As the government is telling us to stay at home and only go out for food, health reasons or other essentialities, there are a lot of us feeling very lonely. The added worry about the COVID-19 virus - catching it ourselves or for one of our dear ones to catch it - does not exactly improve our mental health.
We understand that, if you have lost a child, anything baby-related, like seeing pregnant women, babies, or playgrounds, might trigger you into sadness and despair, anyway. With all the added worries of the current situation in the world, things may feel very difficult - you may be struggling to cope - and we want you to know that we are here for you.
Speaking to ladies who have, at some point in their lives, lost a child, my understanding is that, whereas you will never get over your child dying, you will eventually find a way of living your life without the debilitating devastation that initially may have gripped you. You must however, take the time you need and let yourself grieve your loss. Many parents find support groups and/or counselling helpful. Connecting with other parents in the same situation seems to offer a feeling of togetherness, of not being alone but totally understood.
