New Year's resolutions and baby loss

January 23, 2020

How are you getting on with your New Year’s resolutions? I am already struggling with mine...and we're only half way through January.

Did you lose a baby and always felt you could do with talking to someone about it; perhaps you'd decided 2020 was going to be your year to look after yourself and finally start some healing - but you just haven't brought yourself to seek help yet?

Are you feeling guilty, annoyed and frustrated with yourself for not starting this journey to healing - or failing to keep it going?

At Muma Nurture we believe that if you’ve had a bad day, week or decade and broken your resolution(s), there is no need to be unkind to yourself or to give up.

If you haven’t started yet, there is never a bad time to make a start.

We are here to support you with therapies like Counselling, Hypnotherapy, Massage, Reflexology and Nutrition, all provided by fully trained therapists.

Your child dying is something you never ‘get over’; it stays with you forever. But, with the right help, you could learn to cope with everyday life and maybe even to think about your baby without the overwhelming and paralysing devastation that you may have experienced at some point - or all the time. It doesn't matter if it was last week or 40 years ago; we are all unique and experience loss differently; we all have different coping mechanisms.

The therapeutic relationship – that between a counsellor and the client – is very different from that of friends, colleagues or family members. The counsellor’s room is a space where you can be yourself and talk about anything and everything on your mind, without worrying about feeling guilty of ‘burdening’ anyone with your heavy thoughts, repeating yourself or "boring" someone. The therapeutic hour when you see your counsellor, is yours and you use it as you choose. The counsellor is there for you, to offer an empathic and genuine listening ear, without judgment.

Making healthy, positive changes to your lifestyle can significantly improve your mental health

So whether your resolution was to finally have some Counselling, socialise more or to be more active, Muma Nurture may be able to offer the therapy and support you need to start healing -  whether you have yet to start or are finding it difficult to keep up.
