What is International Women's Day?

February 26, 2019

International Women's Day (IWD) is March 8th every year. A global day celebrating the achievements of women and a call to action for gender equality.

The first IWD was in 1911 supported by over a million people in Austria, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland. Prior to this the UK's Suffragettes, and further groups around the world campaigned for women's equality separately.

The International Women's Day 2019 campaign theme #BalanceforBetter is a call-to-action for driving gender balance across the world.

This year we have put together a full day event to celebrate and support International Women's Day called "Well Balanced Woman".

Change starts from within and we can give value to and feel balanced within ourselves as women.

Come along and join us to see what it's all about, you will hear nothing at all about politics or the gender divide, this event is all about bringing women together to celebrate our achievements and promote wellbeing.

We look forward to seeing you there
